Many of us practice art therapy and do not realize it, the act of doodling or the newly popular adult coloring books are all forms of art therapy.  Art therapy is the therapeutic use of art making.   

Utilizing art to express ourselves and assist in processing our emotional reality can have tremendous impact when used as expression by people who experience illness, trauma or challenges. ​

Art therapy can also be highly beneficial to those who seek personal development. Through creating art and reflecting on the art product and the creative processes we can increase awareness of self and others, cope with symptoms, stress and traumatic experiences; enhance cognitive abilities; and enjoy the life-affirming pleasures of making art. ​

I have studied art in both a classical setting and as therapy since 1997.  Utilizing knowledge about human development, psychological theories, spiritual, multicultural, crafts, ancient and modern artistic traditions and how these have evolved offer us great healing potential.  

We are now offering art therapy experiences as a part of a series of creative retreats.  

Creative retreats are suited for individuals, couples, families, groups and communities.
